“The ultimate aim is to be at home in one's body, to be at one with the nature of oneself, and to experience exercise as a creative and delightful experience.”
~Juliu Horvath, creator of the GYROTONIC® method
The GYROTONIC® Method is a unique approach to movement that integrates mind, body, and spirit. Its flowing sequences of spiraling, circular movements, paired with rhythmic breath patterns, allow the joints to move naturally without harsh articulations or compression. Designed to open and energize the body in a safe, supportive way, each session leaves you feeling awakened, balanced, and revitalized.
A consistent GYROTONIC® practice can help you:
Improve posture and core strength
Enhance spinal mobility
Build stronger, more flexible muscles
Increase range of motion and joint stability
Boost athleticism, agility, and overall movement efficiency
Heighten focus, energy, and mind-body awareness
Improve balance, coordination, and functional movement
Because the GYROTONIC® equipment supports the body while allowing freedom of movement, the method can be adapted for all ages and abilities – from elite athletes and dancers to those just beginning a workout routine. It’s also an effective therapeutic tool for many conditions, including back pain, tight muscles, joint issues, and nerve pain — making it an ideal choice for those recovering from injury or surgery.
Why the GYROTONIC® Method?
“After just one GYROTONIC® private session, I experienced almost complete relief from chronic shoulder and upper arm pain that I had been living with for years. Within 2 more sessions, the discomfort I’d carried for over 15 years was completely gone.”

GYROTONIC® or Pilates—Which Practice Fits You Best?
At Epiphany Movement Center, we believe movement should feel both purposeful and freeing. That’s why we’re proud to offer two complementary modalities, Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method, that work beautifully together to create strength, balance, and ease in the body. Both practices help you build long, lean muscles, improve flexibility and range of motion, release tension, and reduce stress. Many of our clients find that combining the two leads to a richer practice and even greater results.
While they share common benefits, each method offers its own unique approach:
GYROTONIC® movements are three-dimensional, designed to open your body and explore its full range of motion. Pilates movements are more linear, emphasizing alignment, precision, and control for strength and stability.
In the GYROTONIC® method, pulleys and weights provide steady feedback and resistance, guiding your body into smooth and supported motion. In Pilates, spring tension creates resistance and assistance, encouraging alignment, core strength, and balanced control.
GYROTONIC® emphasizes flowing control through your body’s maximum range of motion, helping to expand movement possibilities. Pilates emphasizes balanced control through stabilization, strengthening key muscle groups while maintaining precise alignment.
With GYROTONIC®, your fascia is opened through continuous, spiraling patterns that improve your flexibility and reduce adhesions. In Pilates, flexion and extension are used to both lengthen and strengthen muscles, creating stability and mobility in equal measure.
The best part?
You don’t have to choose one over the other. At Epiphany Movement Center, we offer training in both Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method via classes and private sessions, so you can experience the benefits of each…or the magic of combining them.
Please note, instructor approval is required to join GYROTONIC® classes. We ask all participants to complete at least three (3) private training sessions first, so you feel confident and supported in class.
